My cousin Sophie is super talented and very interested in fiber arts. When she asked me if I could model a shirt she made me for her portfolio, my YES couldn't have been any more enthusiastic.
The shirt came in the mail last week and it's fucking gorgeous. I love the crocheted texture on the eyes and the string eyelash detail. The subject matter is weird enough to raise eyebrows (har har) so you know that means I'm gonna love wearing it.
For this shoot, I channeled my inner 90's grunge. My inner Cobain, if you will. My original plan to wear ripped jeans changed last minute and I opted for tights and ripped shorts with a vintage leopard print jacket that my mom and sister found years ago (but it was too big on them, so I got to keep it!)
We did the shoot in an alley near my house. It was butt cold outside – I tried to hold it together in the shots where I'm not wearing the coat, but it was hard. Mad props to Seth for taking my art direction and even capturing this post's lead image (a candid!) He's getting really good.
Watch out for Sophie though, she's a rising star. I'll definitely share her site with you once it's done. And watch her Instagram because beginning April 3rd, she's doing #The100DayProject with me and her medium will be crochet. How cool is that?
